Pink has had enough with people commenting on her parenting choices when she posts pictures to Instagram – so she decided to beat them to it.
The singer, who is mum to Jameson, two, and Willow, eight, posted a photo of her two kids running through sprinklers in the garden.
“Here’s a picture of my child running through water,” she wrote. “It wasn’t even filtered. What a waste of water. And no helmet? I hope she had sunscreen. If she slips and falls she may be traumatised for life.
“And her mother wasn’t even there. I was... gasp... working! In another country!”
Pink added the hashtags “fuck the parenting police”; “if you feel like unfollowing please god do it quickly”; “opinions are like assholes”; and “so many assholes”.
The singer also disabled comments on the post, so no one was able to write reactions to her sarcastic caption.
Just this week, Instagram introduced a new feature to discourage negative or bullying comments, asking readers: “Are you sure you want to post this?” before they share any offensive wording.
Pink has had her fair share of criticism since becoming a mum – so much so that in April 2019, she said she would stop sharing pictures of her kids on social media.
But last week, the mum-of-two was slammed for posting a photo of her family trip to the zoo in Germany. “I’m surprised you go to zoos,” one follower wrote. “Animals shouldn’t be in captivity. If it was a sanctuary, that’d be different.”
At the time, she responded: “I believe in capturing a child’s interest and love for an animal before teaching them about things like captivity. But thank you, the world needed your wisdom today.”
