Journalist, senior lifestyle PR and media officer for The Brain Tumour Charity and increasingly embarrassing mother to teenagers

Old school journo, verging on Luddite, slightly surprised to find herself blogging - and loving it - as can't quite shed the belief that where there's a quill there's a way (sorry - also a self-confessed pun-time gal). Specialises in human interest stories, wellbeing, first person pieces and writes real-life stories for the nationals for The Brain Tumour Charity, ever humbled by our wonderful supporters and how they live with this cruel disease - the biggest cancer killer of children and under-40s in the UK. After training on local newspapers, have worked on various national newspapers and magazines including 10 years at the National Magazine Company (now Hearst), writing with trademark insight and humour. Now parent to two teenagers and a tweenie, can no longer barely breathe without a collective roll of eyes - and I'm not even trying to be embarrassing yet....
