Charlie Craggs

Trans activist and founder of Nail Transphobia

Charlie's campaign aims to change people’s attitudes towards transgender people through a form of gentle activism. She is fighting transphobia by taking her pop up nail salon to festivals, galleries and museums around the country and giving customers the chance to speak directly to a trans person.

Charlie grew up on a council estate. Due to high levels of violence against transgender people she doesn’t feel safe clubbing, preferring to spend time at friends’ drinking wine and eating food. She is currently single and would like to start dating soon.

Charlie was ranked #1 on the Observer's 2016 New Radicals list, a list of radical social innovators in Britain, and was also named one of the most influential and inspirational LGBT people in the UK by both the Guardian and the Independent on the Rainbow List and Pride Power List.
