Silver medal winner at the International Mathematical Olympiad

Born in Yorkshire, Daniel Lightwing is a mathematical genius. He represented the UK at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2006, winning a silver medal. In 2007, Daniel was the star of BBC documentary "Beautiful Young Minds", which documented the IMO's selection process and followed the contestants on their journey through the competition. Daniel went on the study Maths at Cambridge University, where he was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. A new feature film based on Daniel's experiences, X+Y, will be released in UK cinemas on Friday March 13th, and stars Rafe Spall, Sally Hawkins, Eddie Marsan and Asa Butterfield.
