Labour Member of the European Parliament for the North East of England

I am a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee in the European Parliament. I grew up on Tyneside and went to Walbottle Comprehensive. I have worked previously mainly in the voluntary sector including for Christian Aid, Common Purpose and the Anti-Apartheid Movement. I will promote the new technologies and new thinking we need to tackle climate change and believe the North East region could benefit from the growth of good quality green jobs.
