Peter Rothwell

Action Research Professor of Neurology and Director of the Stroke Prevention Research Unit, University of Oxford.

Professor Rothwell is the Action Research Professor of Neurology in Oxford and Director of the Stroke Prevention Research Unit at the University of Oxford. He founded the University’s Stroke Prevention Research Unit in 2000 and has published over 400 scientific papers and several books. His research interests include the causes and prevention of stroke and dementia, particularly after a transient ischaemic attack (TIA), the effects of high blood pressure on the brain and the risk and benefits of aspirin.
