"I guess they saved on the budget."

Bridgerton and The Crown may be set 100 years apart, but it seems they’ve actually got a lot in common – in particular, their sets.

One eagle-eyed viewer has spotted a number of locations that are used in both of Netflix’s hit period dramas.

TikTok user @rakhee_81 first noticed that an office the Bridgeton’s Duke Of Hastings is seen working in is the same one used by the Queen in The Crown.

Someone else then alerted her to the fact the scene where Bridgerton’s Daphne and Simon meet the Queen to tell them about their marriage plans is set in the same room where Princess Diana is seen rollerskating in The Crown.

Then, she noticed that another room in Lancaster House in London features in both series, as well as the film The King’s Speech.

Of course, this is not the only thing more observant Bridgerton fans have spotted about the hit series, with a major gaffe making headlines earlier this month.

Despite being set in the 19th century, some painted yellow road lines were noticed in the opening scenes of the regency-era drama.

In the UK, the first ever road markings were white and appeared in 1918, and yellow lines didn’t follow until the 1950s.

Earlier this month, Netflix announced Bridgerton has been renewed for a second season.

The new series will focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a wife after his turbulent love life was played out in the first.

Meanwhile, filming for the fifth series of The Crown is due to start in the summer, with Imelda Staunton taking over from Olivia Colman as the Queen.

She will be joined by Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, replacing Tobias Menzies and Helena Bonham-Carter, respectively, while Elizabeth Debicki will succeed Emma Corrin as Princess Diana.

Bridgerton and The Crown are both available to stream on Netflix.
