He also called the FBI "scum".

Donald Trump has told a campaign rally in Wisconsin that mothers and doctors are “executing” their own babies as soon as they are born.

The President was addressing the topic of late-term abortions and his comments were met with loud “boos” from the crowd, most of whom were wearing red MAGA caps.

Trump said: “Your Democratic governor here in Wisconsin shockingly said that he would veto legislation that would protect Wisconsin babies, born alive.

“The baby is born, the mother meets with the doctor, they take care of the baby, they wrap the baby beautifully and then the doctor and the mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby.

“I don’t think so.”

The president was taking aim at the state’s Democratic Governor Tony Evers, who recently announced he would veto a bill that could imprison doctors who don’t provide medical care to babies born alive after a failed abortion attempt.

Evers has said the bill is “redundant” as there are already legal protections in place to protect newborns who survive abortions.

Trump’s use of the word “execute” and his less-than-accurate portrayal of an abortion drew wide condemnation.

Trump wants you to believe there are hordes of women out chomping at the bit to kill a baby they just carried in their bodies for 40 weeks. There are not. Don't vilify women alongside him please. https://t.co/Wu5ryVn89B

Trump also tore down former FBI and Justice Department officials, expressed unabashed support for Saudi Arabia and took credit for plans to send immigrants into sanctuary cities in an unrestrained rally in Wisconsin on Saturday night.

The nearly hour-and-a-half-long campaign rally was scheduled at the same time the 2019 White House Correspondents dinner, which the Trump administration once again boycotted.
