President Donald Trump interrupted first lady Melania Trump’s farewell message to spout baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 election in a comedy sketch broadcast on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
In the spoof clip, Melania Trump’s much-maligned goodbye video – in which she called for all Americans to focus on what unites them – is hijacked by her husband, resulting in her @FLOTUS account being suspended by Twitter.
“I knew he’d work his way around that Twitter ban,” Kimmel joked, referencing Trump’s ban from the platform for inciting the US Capitol riot, for which he was also impeached by the House for a second time.
Trump will leave the White House for the last time on Wednesday ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration as president at noon.
It’s been reported that the outgoing president plans to make the most of the presidency’s privileges until his very last hour in office. Trump has apparently requested one final flight aboard Air Force One. It’s an unusual move as most outgoing presidents typically return to civilian life by using a private plane. However, Trump plans to take the presidential jet to Florida after a farewell event at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland which will reportedly featured a 21-gun salute and military band.
Trump, the only president to be impeached twice and the only president in modern history to not attend his successor’s inauguration, will likely spend the rest of the day at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
