Fitness Blogger Kelsey Wells Reveals Even She's Not Immune To Bloating

'These things are totally normal.'

A well-known fitness blogger has shown that even people with abs can get bloated - and it’s making us feel so much better about the prospect of wearing comfy trousers over Christmas.

Kelsey Wells from ‘My Sweat Life’ shared a photo of her swollen stomach after eating too many treats. She also revealed that, just like any person, she is subject to breakouts and stretch marks.

“I could give you tips and tricks on how to fight bloating and zits and stretch marks,” she said.

“But I think it’s more important for everyone to realise that these things are totally normal. And nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about.”

Wells, who has 612,000 followers on Instagram, said she has received a number of messages from fans questioning why she never looks bloated and how her skin always looks clear.

In response, she posted a photo of her stomach after eating a few “extra treats”.

She wrote: “I try to indulge in moderation, but let’s be honest I’m human and I love food and that doesn’t always happen.”

She added that Instagram is often a “highlight reel”, showing nothing but images of people’s perfect lives.

“But it’s so important to keep it real and remember that most of the images you see while scrolling (including mine) are people’s ‘best foot forward’,” she explained.

“Of course I want to take photos in good lighting and show my best angles, but I never want that to be misconstrued as saying I don’t have bad ones or never look bloated.”

She concluded: “EVERYONE is human. Everyone is beautiful. The key is to spend less time picking ourselves apart and more time seeing how beautiful, amazing, and miraculous our bodies are - bloating, zits, stretch marks, and all.”
