Kylie Minogue Might Play Glastonbury Next Year And Fans Can't Get The Idea Out Of Their Heads

We're spinning around with joy.

Pop-legend Kylie Minogue has been tipped to perform at Glastonbury 2019.

The Sun has claimed that she’ll be playing the ‘legend slot’ on the Pyramid Stage, 14 years after she was forced to pull out of headlining the festival when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Australian star’s people failed to deny claims when approached by HuffPost UK, which will only serve to heighten fans’ excitement, which is already peaking on Twitter:

The rumours follow a July interview with co-organiser of the festival, Emily Eavis, in which she revealed that the ‘first draft’ of the Pyramid Stage saw the slot filled by a woman, who’s from a different country.

“I can’t tell you, but I’ll give you a clue: it’s a female. She is not British, but I can’t give you any more clues because it will get me into trouble.”

The ‘legends’ slot has previously seen the likes of Shirley Bassey, Dolly Parton, ELO and Lionel Richie play.

Having been in the game for over 30 years, the former ‘Neighbours’ actress has sold over 70 million records worldwide, and is the 12th best selling singer in the United Kingdom to date, so she certainly qualifies to perform as part of the famous Sunday evening set.

When asked by Press Association in July whether she’d be keen play the festival, Kylie said: “When I was supposed to do it [in 2005] I think I would have been the first solo female to headline in however many years it was, so I was really proud of that at that time.

“Obviously it didn’t happen,” she added. “So yes, it would be amazing and very emotional to be standing there and doing what I didn’t get to do all those years ago, for sure.”

We’re still waiting on some confirmation, but in the meantime we’re spinning around with joy.
