Adam Driver has been accused of walking out of a recent radio interview, to promote his new film Marriage Story.

The former Girls star is currently on the promo trail for the new Netflix drama, for which he’s expected to receive an Academy Award nomination for.

He was recently scheduled to appear on the NPR show Fresh Air to discuss his performance in the film, but The Daily Beast has reported that Adam left before the interview was over.

An email from the show’s executive producer claimed that he left “while we were playing back a clip from the film”, believed to be the section where he sings Being Alive from the musical Company.

In the past, Adam has been vocal about his dislike of watching himself on film, going as far as describing it as a “phobia” in an interview back in October.

“We don’t really understand why he left,” said the show’s producer. “We were looking forward to the interview – [presenter Terry Gross] thinks he’s a terrific actor, he was a great guest when he was on [the show] in 2015— so we were disappointed that we didn’t have a new interview to share with our listeners about Marriage Story.”

HuffPost UK has contacted Adam Driver’s representatives for comment.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Adam had received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Marriage Story, which also stars Scarlett Johansson and Laura Dern.

Later this week, Adam’s final outing as Star Wars villain Kylo Ren will be unveiled, when The Rise Of Skywalker is released in cinemas.
