This Morning's Phillip Schofield Apologises After Shouting Out Expletive Live On Air

Schofe got a little too competitive in the pancake race.

Phillip Schofield was forced to apologise on Tuesday’s This Morning, after his use of language not typically heard on daytime telly.

To mark Pancake Day, Schofe and co-host Holly Willoughby took part in a pancake-flipping obstacle course outside the This Morning studio live on air.

Unfortunately, it looks like the competitive presenter may have forgotten his microphone was on, as when his pancake slid out of his frying pan, he was heard shouting a rather loud expletive.

More specifically, the oft-overlooked term “shite”.

The moment did not go unnoticed by This Morning fans, who were mostly entertained by Phil’s explicit outburst:

But despite viewers on social media finding it hilarious, Phil did follow the incident with an apology, commenting: “I did swear half way round, I am sorry. I did put an ‘e’ on the end of [the word].”

And perhaps even worse… he didn’t win the race.

This week is a big one for Holly and Phil, as in addition to their usual This Morning present gig, they’ll also be hosting the Dancing On Ice final on Sunday night.

Just three celebrities remain in the running, with former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan, Love Island finalist Wes Nelson and X Factor singer Saara Aalto all set to take to the rink one last time.

They’ll be joined by their fellow contestants for one last performance, including Gemma Collins, who recently shot down rumours that she might be missing the grand finale.

Let’s just hope the excitement doesn’t loosen up Schofe’s tongue again…

This Morning airs every weekday from 10.30am on ITV.
