Richard E Grant Gets His Life At Oscar Nominees Lunch As He Fanboys Over Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper And Rami Malek

Living the dream.

Richard E Grant might be acting royalty but he unleashed his inner fanboy at this year’s Oscar Nominees Luncheon.

The 61-year-old is up for the Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Academy Awards for his role opposite Melissa McCarthy in Can You Ever Forgive Me?

On Monday, Richard attended the posh lunch at the Beverly Hilton in LA and proceeded to get starstruck at every turn.

And what does every fanboy or girl do when presented with such a pinch-me moment? Take a shed load of selfies of course…

Sharing his snaps on Twitter, the Withnail And I star admitted he was “living the dream”.

“This is now getting beyond ‘pinch yourself’ – more like ‘punch yourself’ SwaziGuy!!!! Living the dream,” he wrote.

Among the stars posing alongside Richard were Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Spike Lee, Rami Malek, Mahershala Ali, Glenn Close, Sam Elliott and Viggo Mortensen.

At the lunch, the nominees were told by Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President John Bailey that if they did bag a statuette on 24 February, they only had 90 seconds to get to the stage and make their speech.

The 91st Academy Awards will be the first ceremony in 30 years not to have a host after Kevin Hart pulled out amid controversy over old homophobic tweets.

Instead, a string of big name stars will present, including Daniel Craig, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Jennifer Lopez, Charlize Theron and Awkwafina.
