'Strictly Come Dancing' Week 2: Janette Manrara Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction As Ashley Roberts Tops Leaderboard

But it was an unsurprising night on the leaderboard.

The second live show of this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ proved to be an eventful one, with wardrobe malfunctions, the first Charleston of the series and a fairly unsurprising top-scoring celeb of the week.

First off, that aforementioned wardrobe malfunction, which sadly befell professional dancer Janette Manrara.

Janette and Dr Ranj had been onto a winner with their Salsa routine to Pitbull’s ‘Fireball’ when her high heel got tangled in her skirt at around the halfway point.

Fortunately, she was able to complete the routine while barely breaking a sweat, with the two eventually ending up around the middle of the leaderboard on 24 points of a possible 40.

Meanwhile, there were no surprises when it came to who came out on top, with former Pussycat Dolls performer Ashley Roberts sailing to peak position with her Cha-Cha-Cha to disco classic ‘Boogie Wonderland’.

She and her pro partner, Pasha Kovalev, wound up on 32 points, one mark ahead of her closest celebrity competitors, Steps singer Faye Tozer and YouTube vlogger Joe Sugg.

Similarly unsurprising was the lowest-scorer of the night, Susannah Constantine, who for the second week in a row, pulled in just 12 points, once again being awarded a 1 by Craig Revel Horwood.

While last week there was no dance-off, this time around the judges’ scores hold a lot of importance, as along with the public’s votes, they’ll help determine which celebrity is the first to be booted out of the competition this year.

Find out which unlucky pair will be going home in tonight’s ‘Strictly’ results show, kicking off at 7.15pm on BBC One.
