Certified Professional Life Coach specialising in betrayal recovery for women

Catherine Etherington – Certified Professional Life Coach (CPLC)

I became a life and recovery coach after discovering my husbands secret pornography use and being devastated by it. Whilst I was able to find a ton of support and resources that were helpful for him, I came up against a brick wall when seeking support for myself. If you have done any searching (maybe that’s how you found me!), you will know what I mean.

I decided to do what I could to change that and took up training with Impact Coaching Academy where I gained my Certificate in Life Coaching earning me the CPLC status. I also immediately began training with the American Association of Sex Addiction Therapists (AASAT) and am currently in the process of seeking certification as a Partners Recovery Coach (PRC). I will also be training with Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialist (APSATS) when their next training comes up in January, to gain a deeper insight into their Multi Dimensional Trauma Model. I am an experienced professional trainer and coach working in a corporate setting, delivering leadership training incorporating the latest advances in Neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence. This is wonderfully complimentary to my role as a coach and adds an extra dimension to understanding trauma responses and human behaviour.

I am a 35 year old mother to two daughters both entering their teens. This issue will affect all women in some way and I work hard to equip my daughters for healthy relationships when the time comes.

I am a Christian woman (but don’t let that put you off, read the next bit!) who lives according to my beliefs but will never force them on anybody.

I am also a recovered substance addict myself, with a decade of recovery behind me and many more years to come. I have a unique insight into addiction and have worked with many other addicts to achieve sobriety though the 12 step model and other modalities. I have worked professionally with addicts and alcoholics in residential rehabilitation units also.

So you see, working with me brings with it a whole lot of life experience and professional understanding of the issues you are facing. I will not label you, blame you or shove you in a box. I will seek to discover who you are and respond to your unique and individual needs and most importantly I will honour who you are, where you have been and where you want to go. If you would like to know more, feel free to get in touch to see how I can help you begin to move forwards.
