Democracy In The Time Of Brexit

There are few things as important to our society, and our nation, as democracy. That is right and proper, because a country whose people are unable to periodically choose their leaders and - importantly - hold them to account beckons dictatorship, and dictatorship leads to conflict, oppression and isolation.

Democracy Requires MPs to Step Up to the Plate

Democracy in this country was not built on a stiff upper lip. Our MPs are elected to consider, discuss, and take difficult decisions on behalf of all of us and in the best interests of the whole country. They cannot, in good faith, acquiesce in something that they know in their hearts to be wrong for this country and contrary to the good of society. It's time for MPs to stop the infighting, roll up their sleeves and step up to the plate.

The EU: More Important Than Nato

I am Italian by birth, but I have lived in the UK for nigh on 23 years. I have been working, paying taxes and doing voluntary work in this country for 16 of those. My wife is British, and both of my children were born here. The UK is the place that I and my family call home.
