Greg Foot

Science presenter on TV, YouTube and on stage

Greg is a Science Presenter on TV, on YouTube and on Stage.

As the Science Guy on Blue Peter he’s run on custard, made a comet, and built a giant battery from 600 potatoes! As a regular on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch Greg has dissected a (jelly!) brain, made home-made ice-cream, played music WITH FIRE and much more! Greg also hosts BBC Three / BBC Worldwide’s Secrets Of Everything where he was buried alive, frozen, shot, electrocuted, and even went under the knife in the name of science! He’s also driven a jet-powered go-kart, unleashed a huge flour explosion and built a real levitating hoverboard as a host for BBC Worldwide’s Factomania.

[to add from mid Feb – ‘And he’s the Digital Presenter for CBBC’s amazing new aerial assault show ‘Airmageddon’, running around backstage uncovering how the drones fly - and breathe fire! Check out his films to see his 4-part Drone Flying School Lessons (& watch him crash on the Airsault course!) and see how all the House Drones were made!’]

Greg’s YouTube films have had more than 5,000,000 hits. He hosts the BBC’s Brit Lab channel, answering questions from ‘What causes a beer belly?’ to ‘Why do we have pubic hair?’. He also posts behind-the-scenes vlogs from shoots on his own channel.

Greg develops, writes & presents spectacular science shows on stages around the world. With KABOOM! Greg tells the history of explosives and has taken gunpowder, a hybrid rocket, giant flamethrowers and even nitroglycerin to 8,000 people at Birmingham NEC, into a Spiegeltent for The Lost Lectures, and dozens of science, music & kids festivals around the UK! He’s made a bowling ball loop the loop (with him in the middle!) at Hammersmith Apollo with Brian Cox & Robin Ince, and his show Everest Lab uses interactive demos to follow his journey up to Everest Base Camp with a group of scientists exploring the science of high altitude survival.

[being added very soon when design work is done & the webpage is made: ‘This May Greg hits the road with his first solo national theatre tour ‘CAUTION: Safety Goggles Required!’ It’s a show of Curious Questions and Explosive Answers! More info (& tickets!) here.’ ]

Greg’s got a first class degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, a Masters in Science Media Production from Imperial College and has been recognised as one of the leading science communicators in the UK by The Wellcome Trust who have given him the prestigious position of ‘Engagement Fellow’.

Greg also delivers Science Communication Training for clients including The Royal Society and The Prince’s Trust, and a range of Talks covering his journey from Science Degree to Science Communication, Social Media, Science Busking & much more.
