For the past four seasons Niamh McKevitt has been the only girl in England playing boys' football in her age group.

A combative defender, she played in the top division of the Sheffield District Boys Junior League – the largest junior league in Europe – and became the first girl ever to play at boys' academy level, representing Sheffield Wednesday Elite Player Development Centre.

She is captain of South Yorkshire Girls under 17s and has represented the Republic of Ireland. at junior international level. Niamh currently plays for Huddersfield Town in the FA Women's Premier League.

Her first book 'Playing with the Boys: The story of the girls footballer who took on the boys at their own game...' was published in August 2015 by Vision Sports Publishing.
