Ohid Ahmed is an elected councillor representing Lansbury Ward since 2002 in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. He has served as Cabinet member responsible for a variety of portfolios at different times including Education & Youth, Regeneration & Partnerships, Adult, Health and Wellbeing, Environment, Community Safety as well as first statutory deputy mayor.
Ohid founded the Labour Friends of Bangladesh and stood as a parliamentary candidate for Suffolk constituency. He has an MBA from a London university and was a Ministerial appointment to London Thames Gateway Development Corporation.
