Imprisoned for Love: Human Rights in Egypt

On 16 October 2011, American Jessica Albrent married Ahmed Azzam, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in the Egyptian military. The marriage was legal and binding under Egyptian law. Jessica and Ahmed's families and friends joined them to celebrate their union. The couple were married for less than two months, when Ahmed was arrested.

One in Five Women Still Avoid Cervical Screening

A quarter of a million women worldwide will have died of cervical cancer by the time 2011 draws to a close. That's roughly one death every two minutes. Of those, around 900 are British women - and sadly, many of these deaths could have been prevented by a simple cervical screening.
