A woman has been caught apparently stealing flowers from the grave of a dead schoolboy, in what the family has described as a "callous" act.
CCTV footage appears to show the unidentified woman kneeling down with her handbag, then pilfering flower pots from the grave of
Robert Rose, an 11-year-old who was hit by a car in 1980.
The dead boy's family installed a CCTV camera at the Rippleside Cemetry in Barking, Essex, after a string of thefts from his grave.
Every fortnight for the past 18 months they say that ornaments, flowers and gifts have been vanishing, so they installed the camera in a tree as a last resort. They have released these pictures in the hope of catching the culprit.
Steve Rose, the dead boy's cousin, said that his aunt never got over Robert's death, "That's why it's such a terrible thing for us".
"We have left signs asking them to stop stealing but that didn't deter them. It's just callous" he was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying.
A Met Police spokesperson said: 'Police are appealing for information concerning the identity of the woman".
