Independence Referendum Vote Result Capped Big Night On The Town In Scotland

After pubs were granted special licences to keep serving alcohol all night and into Friday morning, many in Scotland were always going to feel a little worse for wear today, regardless of the independence referendum result.

It's almost as remarkable as the tears and rejection of Yes supporters who gradually realised they had lost as the votes were counted overnight.

People were dancing ceilidh at the Better Together event at The Marriot Hotel in Glasgow in the early hours of this morning.

On the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Yes campaigners were consoling themselves after their narrow defeat.
