We’ll be honest, a few of the performances on ‘The X Factor’ didn’t exactly restore our confidence in UK talent (*cough* Only The Young *cough*), but luckily Ed Sheeran was at hand to show them all how it’s done.
Ed performed the latest single from his album ‘X’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’, live in the studio on Sunday night, and we were surprised to see that he’d even dressed up for the occasion.
In fact, Simon Cowell had succeeded where even The Queen had failed, actually getting Ed Sheeran to ditch his trademark hoodie and *gasp* put a nice shirt on. And a waistcoat.
Oh, and the performance was pretty good too, despite the fairly chilling light-wielding crowd of people who appeared behind him as if from nowhere while he sang. Halloween week is next week, Ed.
The singer had already revealed that he’s a big fan of this year’s ‘X Factor’, and even went as far as sending a text to Simon to tell him how particularly impressed he’s been with Andrea Faustini so far in the competition.
As well as Ed, One Republic were also in the studio performing their latest single, ‘I Lived’, giving a similarly impressive performance.
Of course, that means the pressure is now doubly on for Cheryl Fernandez-Versini to deliver, after it was announced that she’ll be hitting the stage this week to perform her new track, ‘I Don’t Care’.
This will mark the first time that Chezza has performed on the ‘X Factor’ stage since returning to the show, having promoted ‘Call My Name’ on rival show ‘The Voice’, during her famous fall-out with show boss Simon Cowell.
