The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child Prince Louis will be christened at 4pm today [Monday 9 July].

The ceremony will take place at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, in London. The 11-week-old, who is fifth in line to the throne, will be christened by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Reverend Justin Welby.

Prince George, four, and three-year-old Princess Charlotte will be there for their younger brother’s big day. It will be the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children have been seen together as a family of five.

He will reportedly be dressed in the same cream gown used for George and Charlotte. The robe is a replica of the lace and satin dress made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter in 1841.

Prince Louis’ godparents, who will be announced on the day, will take part in the 40-minute traditional religious ceremony.

Princess Charlotte was christened at St Mary Magdalene church on the Queen’s estate in July 2015.

Both George and Charlotte were both also baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Louis Arthur Charles was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, on April 23 – St George’s Day – weighing 8lb 7oz.

Amal Clooney is a literal ray of sunshine, colour blocking (like the Queen) in a matching yellow dress by Stella McCartney and hat. We love how rather than going for a full on yellow tie, George has gone for a striped option. (credit:ODD ANDERSEN via Getty Images)

Doria Ragland's pistachio green floral Oscar de la Renta dress and jacket combo was a cut above the usual mother-of-the-bride fare, thanks to the impeccable tailoring and her Stephen Jones' hat.

She finished off the look with some well-chosen jewellery including a diamond nose stud, as well as a necklace and earrings by Birks - a label that was founded four centuries ago in Sheffield, England, but really rose in popularity and prominence in 1879 when Henry Birks opened a jewellery boutique in Canada.

The Beckhams chose more subdued colours, with Victoria in a navy dress from her own label, which is similar to the one she wore for Kate and William’s wedding in 2011.

David's shades stole the show though.

Charlotte Riley and Tom Hardy(06 of18)

Tom Hardy’s shaved head is a dramatic look for a wedding and is certainly one way to stand out in a sea of suits. He went for the dramatic cut for a role - he’s playing Al Capone. While his wife, 'Peaky Blinders' actor, Charlotte Riley, is in one of our favourite guest looks of the day, a floral dress and hat (thought to be Philip Treacy) with blooms peaking out from under the rim. Oprah Winfrey(09 of18)

Oprah was among the first guests to arrive, wearing a pink midi dress with a scalloped neckline and tiered skirt - but the real talking point was her prominent hat and the fact she didn’t take her sunglasses off inside the chapel. (credit:WPA Pool via Getty Images)

Erdem had long been a forerunner in the predictions for Markle's wedding dress designer, but while she didn't go for one of his delicate designs, Carey Mulligan did. (credit:IAN WEST via Getty Images)

Pippa Middleton’s floral dress may have seemed like a classic choice, but royal wedding watchers noticed an unfortunate style twin: a can of Arizona Iced Tea.

Her hat is thought to be designed by Jess Collett, who has also designed for Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson.

James Haskell and Chloe Madeley(13 of18)

Sarah Allard, editor at hitched.co.uk told us she was surprised to see Chloe Madeley flouted royal wedding dress etiquette, with bare shoulders. She explained: "While royal wedding guest dressing has become relatively more relaxed in recent years, there are still some strict rules that guests are expected to adhere to. For women, dresses should be knee-length and while Chloe’s dress follows this rule, her decision to keep her shoulders bare with a low, almost plunging neckline might not be the most respectful outfit for a royal and religious venue with the head of state in attendance – something which could raise a few eyebrows within the chapel." Princess Diana's niece chose a forest green Dolce & Gabbana dress. We love the way it looks as though the flowers were painted on to it.

Her headpiece is (of course) a Philip Treacy.
