Watch Falcon 9 Land Perfectly But Then Celebrate By Exploding In A Fireball

Elon Musk is not a man who gives up easily, which is why after successfully landing his Space X Falcon 9 rocket from orbit he decided to try it again, just to make sure.

Well he's probably pretty happy that he did because this time it didn't exactly go to plan.

What you're looking at is the Falcon 9 rocket that had previously sent the Jason 3 satellite into orbit. The plan was to place the satellite in orbit then successfully land the rocket on Space X's floating launchpad.

According to Musk heavy fog may have hindered the launch process and in turn produced an abundance of condensation which then froze onto the spacecraft's surface.

It was this ice which meant that when Falcon 9 touched down on the landing pad its legs held for a moment before buckling and causing the rocket to fall over and well, explode.

Don't panic though, this is far from a major disaster, in fact if anything it'll be supremely useful to the Space X team who are taking every opportunity to test their new reusable rocket system.

Then of course we can't forget this momentous occasion:
