Councils deal with housing issues, social care issues involving children and older people and people with disabilities. They deal with the collection of rubbish - planning applications and numerous other important local issues.

Of course what we need is a leader and the strong and stable variety to get our country back so we can trade with any authoritarian regimes we choose. Luckily we have that person already in place - Theresa May - we know this because she told us both before and after her disastrous general election.

I saw and experienced the damage caused by cutting back on community policing - it causes real harm and fear and means that policing changes from the officer you know and who knows you and your community being replaced by officers you don't know turning up when things go wrong.

What is at the heart of this is that Theresa May and 'her team' do not respect or trust ordinary voters enough to make a judgement - and that can't be good for this country. She and they don't even trust core Tory voters enough to have Mrs May show a bit of courage under adversity and earn their respect.

This is about the worst kind of politics. This is politics that picks on minorities who cannot defend themselves in order to gain votes and says more about Paul Nuttall and UKIP's polling numbers than it does about a small number of ladies who cover their faces when they go shopping.
