Dr Ellie May

Covering everything you want to know but are too scared to ask the doctor about.

Ellie is an anaesthetic doctor who works in the frontline at an NHS hospital and writes about all the things that really happen when you go off to sleep. On a mission to explain the differences between being awake, asleep, anaesthetised and aware, she wrote "Adventures in Anaesthesia" describing her working life as she trained to become an anaesthetist and sheds light on the theatre that is the operating theatre showing what can happen as you count down from 10.
