Jamie, 22, from Keynsham in Somerset has never had a girlfriend or even been on a date and when it comes to affairs of the heart Jamie is left baffled by the rules of engagement.
Jamie has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism, for him it means he struggles to understand anything that isn’t logical. Jamie thinks his logical mind puts him at a disadvantage when it comes to meeting girls as he doesn’t understand emotions or the complicated rituals of courtship.
“I need to know the rules to play the game. Social etiquette makes no sense. For years I’ve struggled with why people give flowers. That’s often seen as a romantic gesture but to me it’s saying ‘here - have this pretty life so it can die’.”
Jamie is much more at home with his other passion, military strategy and history, and in particular his hero Genghis Khan. Now determined to find a girlfriend, like any good military strategist, Jamie has a plan…
