There is a huge body of research that says that not only do good relationships contribute significantly towards people's happiness at work, but also helps people become more resilient in the face of every day stresses and frustrations.
Today is the International Day of Happiness, a day set aside by the UN to recognise that the "happiness and well-being of all peoples" is a fundamental goal of development. This year, as it falls on a workday, it begs the question of whether happiness and well-being are issues that organizations should take seriously.

The UN have declared this Wednesday 20 March the International Day of Happiness. Many people might find this faintly ridiculous and I am sure there will be plenty of jokes about unhappiness as well complaints about the UN having better things to do such as sorting out Syria or North Korea.
