Simon Concannon

Leading tax adviser,UK and internationally particularly known for his expertise on property related matters with an emphasis on SDLT and VAT

Simon has over 20 years experience as a leading tax adviser in both the UK and internationally. Rather than becoming overspecialised, Simon has very broad tax expertise having dealt with a wide array of corporate transactions from M&A to restructurings; demergers; fund raising and listings. This has included advising corporates benefiting from some of the more bespoke tax areas such as VCTs, REITs and EIS. Simon is particularly known for his expertise on property related matters with an emphasis on SDLT and VAT. He has also implemented a wide range of share and other employee incentive arrangements.
It is this broad approach to an understanding of the tax rules and how they interlink which allows Simon and the Walker Morris team to quickly focus on the key commercial aspects of the tax position rather than be overly focused on one aspect. The Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession reports Simon as being "immensely knowledgeable as well as good at tactics and strategy".
Simon was recently awarded the Finance Monthly Dealmaker of the Year Award 2013 for his role in advising on the GFH takeover of Leeds United.
