Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to take part in a new sit-down interview with US television legend Oprah Winfrey, it has been confirmed.

On Monday afternoon, it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will both appear in a 90-minute special, set to air in the US next month.

Titled Oprah With Meghan And Harry, the interview will air on CBS on Sunday 7 March.

The interview will begin as a one-on-one between Oprah and Meghan, which will cover “marriage, motherhood, and how she handled life under public pressure”.

They’ll then be joined by Harry, as the pair reflect on their move to the US, as well as discussing their “future hopes and dreams”.

CBS said in a statement: “[Oprah] will speak with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

Harry and Meghan’s relationship with Oprah is well-documented, with the celebrated US star being one of the many A-list guests at the royal wedding in 2018.

The news of the forthcoming interview was confirmed just a day after the couple announced that Meghan was expecting their second child.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement on Sunday night.

Oprah was first rumoured to be planning a “tell-all” interview with the pair in January 2020, shortly after it was announced they were stepping away from their duties as senior royals.

Her rep said at the time: “No, [Oprah is] not in discussion for an interview.”

A week prior to this, Oprah had dismissed claims that she “advised” Harry and Meghan ahead of their announcement, insisting: “Meghan and Harry do not need my help figuring out what’s best for them. I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family.”
