April 22nd is Earth Day. Maybe this means a lot to you, perhaps it doesn't. Maybe you want to help the environment but don't know where to start. Well, how about don't wash your jeans. Not on Earth Day, or the next day, or the next week or even the next month.
Earth Day has to be about more than just turning off lights. We need to reflect seriously on the impact that our individual choices are having on the planet and its inhabitants and start to make better ones.

The case for promoting a widespread use of briquettes is a strong one: the current use of charcoal and firewood is contributing to wide-scale deforestation in many developing countries.
Bjørn Lomborg he claimed that green energy technologies are too expensive and energy inefficient, and we should frack more and reduce subsidies for renewable energy. I will try to tackle his points and clarify why I believe he is wrong on almost every single issue.
