Lake Como

George and Amal Clooney are offering a lunch date at their villa in Lake Como, Italy to one lucky person (and their friend) who donates to the Clooney Foundation for Justice. The organisation seeks justice through accountability for human rights abuses around the world.
The Italians may have a chequered political history, a national debt second only to Greece and high levels of unemployment but if they do one thing really well, it is luxury hotels. Italian luxury hotels are acknowledged worldwide as among the best for style, service and food: they are the standard bearers that others try to follow.
After two weeks living it up in Paris, the thought of a visit to Ti Sana was very welcome indeed. It is a beautiful retreat which lies in the heart of a sleepy hamlet in northern Italy and is constructed from part of a former Italian nobleman's home dating back to 1711.
Lake Como offers beautiful views of the Alps from lake-side villas that have all of the charm of Italy along with the elegance and order as befits a location so close to the Swiss border. As an Italian that lives and works in this idyllic region, I have created a list of my favourite activities to do while spending a summer holiday on the lake.
Honesdale is the kind of white picket-fence neighborhood where swinging benches hang from porches and american flags flap from the beamers, so you wouldn't expect much nightlife. We did however, manage to find one lone bar with music where the residents of Honesdale were just all too interested to see who these crazy kids were.
