Gwennan was diagnosed with Alopecia Universalis in 2002. Gwennan had a difficult journey to acceptance of her alopeica but is now a confident and independent woman who happens to be different. Gwennan sees it her place in life to support others going through a similar journey of lost identity, grief and emotional trauma. Through her own personal journey, she recognises the need for education to remove the stigma associated with hairloss. She is passionate about raising awareness of alopecia and supporting the development of psychological support for hairloss.
