Officially Endorsed by the President of the United States... as if that were a good thing.
Commentary on UK and US politics.
I.T. Consultant, northerner eternally grumpy about the damage done to our country by successive governments.
More recently, retweeted by Donald Trump when I called him a Fascist, which is the best endorsement I'm ever likely to get.
In many of Trump's outpourings, "False" is far more obvious than "Statement". But it's the other two that are tricky. Does he knowingly intend to deceive, or does he simply say whatever advances his own world view and boosts his ego?
The FTPA (as anyone who has got this far probably knows) means Parliament will sit for a fixed 5-year term rather than the Prime Minister of the day calling a General Election when it suits them (yes, yes, I know). But it does limit the life of a Parliament to five years. Except that under the Withdrawal Bill, a minister could argue that the Brexit process is still incomplete...
Last night (5th September) a document was leaked to news outlets outlining Home Office plan for dealing with the difficult issue of EU migrants and their families living and working in the UK, from March 2019 onward. In short, they won't be welcome. Low-skilled workers can get a visa & stay for two years, more "valuable" workers (your value will be determined by the Government) get 3-5 years then you're out.
Today my Twitter feed went nuts. I mean, it's Twitter, it's usually nuts, but not my feed. I have (had) few followers. I'm an IT consultant, I follow mainly comedians and UK/US political folk. I retweet and chat with people whose opinions I agree with, and sometimes have a semi-humorous snipe at people I disagree with, including @realdonaldtrump. Today I had a *very* busy day.
