Last week, referee Sir Chris Hoy received his seasonal abuse when referee Chris Foy wronged Chelsea and the most decorated Olympian Michael Phelps was mourned instead of the recently departed Fred Phelps by some. And this week, a Sarah Moyes copped some flak when several Manchester United supporters assumed she was manager David Moyes' daughter.
The beleaguered Moyes - David, that is - oversaw a 10th Barclays Premier League defeat as United manager on Tuesday as Manchester City won 3-0 at Old Trafford.
With the supporters becoming mutinous inside the ground and on the web, Sarah Moyes - whose Twitter handle is @moyesy - received insults.
"I am no relation to the football manager David Moyes," she clarified. "Can people please stop mentioning me in tweets, I'm pretty sure he has his own account."
Moyes doesn't, although his only daughter Lauren used to.
