Don't Compare Your Chapter One to Someone Else's Chapter 20

Whether you've just started your health and fitness journey or been working hard for a while, the chances are that you compare your progress (and therefore, your body) to others. It could be while looking at other people on social media or in magazines, or even in the gym, but it's important that you stop comparing yourself to other people.

Whether you've just started your health and fitness journey or been working hard for a while, the chances are that you compare your progress (and therefore, your body) to others.

It could be while looking at other people on social media or in magazines, or even in the gym, but it's important that you stop comparing yourself to other people.

Obviously it's perfectly natural to admire someone's body if you think it looks great, but there's a good chance that being envious about someone who has ripped abs or what you believe is the perfect butt could get in the way of you achieving your goals.

This is because it's likely that you'll feel angry about how long it will take you to look like that, which, for some people can be great motivation, but for many it's disheartening and makes you feel like giving up because you don't want to have to wait.

Remember that those men and women won't have achieved those results in a month though, they will have been working consistently hard for a long time. So don't put yourself down because you're not there yet. Give yourself a pat on the back for how far you have come from day one!

There are many people whose bodies I think are incredible and while I don't compare myself to them, seeing their pictures has motivated me at times, but for many people it doesn't work this way.

So stop giving yourself a hard time whenever you see someone whose body you admire. Accept that they're just clearly way further into their journey than you are...but that you will get there.

After all, it's not just about how your body looks...but how you feel too! Strive to be healthy and the rest will come in time.

You can do this!
