Remote-controlled augmented reality drones are already cool and terrifying in equal measure.

But what if they were controlled by your mind?

It sounds frightening, but actually it's quite a cool little advancement that could potentially enable disabled people to explore more of their surroundings - or just fight awesome mid-air drone battles with everyone else.

A team at Zhejiang Univeristy's CCNT lab recently modified an AR Parrot drone that it could be controlled with an Emotiv EEG headset.

The Emotiv learns to recognise brain activity when users think about different functions, and translates them into commands.

In the case of the Drone, if you think "push", the craft will rise - and so on with the different controls for the craft. And using the drone's attached HD cameras, those without any mobility can explore their environment.

Named the 'Flying Buddy 2', it's certainly a more positive use for a drone than spying on your neighbours.
