Newcastle are celebrating the arrival of 2016 with a Winter Carnival Parade. Hundreds of participants and performers are taking part in the parade, which will have rugby–themed floats. The Fireballs Ceremony in Stonehaven(05 of10)
Stonehaven's spectacular and free ceremony dates back to a fishermen's festival in the 19th century. At the strike of midnight the street is lit up as around fifty to sixty local fireball-swingers make their way down it, swinging their fireballs above their heads through their town. Nottingham Castle NYE(08 of10)
The grounds of Nottingham Castle will play host to live music and entertainment, with performances by a Beatles tribute band among other acts.
