'Titanfall' Is Now Free!

Clear your weekend's schedule: you're playing Titanfall.

EA has made its fantastically fun parkour-plus-mechs shooter free for 48 hours in an attempt to undermine Valve's annual Steam Summer Sale, which started yesterday.

The entire full version of Titanfall is free to play this weekend. All you have to do is endure the massive download through EA's Origin store, but once you're in you can play the entire game. And yes, even when your access expires you can save your progress and pick it up again if you want to buy the game later.

EA said that as soon as you start the game the countdown begins -- meaning you don't have to panic and get it right away in order to claim your 48 hours free.

"For Titanfall you’re getting 48 full hours of Pilot/Titan action. It’s the entire game. The Origin Game Time clock begins the moment you start the game for the first time, and ticks down in realtime. Whether you’re fighting your friends or taking a break, the Game Time clock will continue to run.

Love the game after playing during Origin Game Time and want to continue? Your Titanfall progress is saved and you can pick up right where you left off if you purchase Titanfall.

If you already own Titanfall, this weekend is a great time to get back into the game. Origin Game Time will bring new Pilots into the fight – help your teammates or swoop in for some easy points."
