Chair of the Royal College of GPs

Dr Maureen Baker CBE has been a GP since 1985 and currently practises in Lincoln. Dedicated to the profession, she had numerous leadership roles in the Royal College of GPs before being elected as Chair for a three year tenure. She led innovations in general practice and health care delivery systems - with pioneering work in Patient Safety and Emergency Planning, and conducted postgraduate educational and workforce research - contributing to over 50 journal and book publications. She also received a CBE for Services to Medicine in 2004.
