George John

Retired doctor. Now a volunteer speaker for Prostate cancer UK.

Dr George John was born in Kerala, India in 1948. On graduation from Trivandrum Medical College, he went to Nigeria and worked in a remote village hospital for 4 years. In 1979 he went to the UK for higher Surgical Training. After obtaining the F.R.C.S and the post fellowship Diploma in Urology, he pursued a surgical career in England. The NHS Trust where he worked recognised him as an exceptionally hard working, conscientious, and compassionate doctor and honoured him with the 'Star Award' in 2012. After retirement he is now a volunteer speaker for Prostate Cancer UK, a charity organisation.
