John Mason

John is Aurecon’s leader for programme and project delivery. Based in the Asia Pacific region, John’s remit is to further enhance the company’s capabilities and to build on the reputation the company already has for programme management and project delivery in all market sectors.

John is a member of the company’s Major Projects Group, with board level oversight of the company’s portfolio of major projects across the globe, and led the company-wide major projects initiative, which was instrumental in enhancing the governance, processes, systems and people related capabilities within the business.

This initiative has led to a number of far reaching changes within the business that have greatly enhanced the company’s ability to win and deliver major projects effectively across multiple industries.

John has also been instrumental in managing a series of market facing thought leadership activities that are underpinning the company’s strategic vision and growth in the area of mega and major project delivery.

Before joining Aurecon in 2010, John advised Crossrail in London, at an Executive Board and Sponsor level, on Delivery Strategy, Delivery Organisation and the procurement of Programme and Project Delivery Partners.

Prior to this John held senior roles in Programme and Executive Management at PB; Project and Programme Management at Bechtel; and in Design Management at Arup.

John has significant international project experience, having worked for the majority of his career in Europe, as well as in the USA, Australia and SE Asia.
