Josh Taerk

Singer Songwriter & Storyteller

Young Canadian singer songwriter Josh Taerk draws his influences from classic storytellers and songwriters like Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne. In September 2012, Josh was honored in his home of Toronto Canada, where he was invited to perform as one of Canada’s rising new artists as part of Canada's Walk of Fame Festival.

Over the past 2 years, Josh has toured throughout the UK opening for The Soldiers and gained significant attention wherever they played and as a result was delighted to be the main support for their latest tour (January 25th-April 4th 2013).

This exciting, enigmatic and handsome 22-Year-Old will be releasing his new single ‘Smell The Roses’ on 6th May on Misty Creek Records Inc. The single is taken from his album simply titled ‘Josh’ due out later this year.

Channeling the same beguiling and poignant story-telling lyricism of a young Springsteen with reflective tales of hope and optimism, Josh connects with the listener allowing you to take your own personal journey piggybacking on the delicate and warm melodies, molding his words to your own memories.

The songs are enriched in Americana with hints of Counting Crows as well as occupying the same freewheeling ethos of The Hold Steady and the subtlety of Big Star. His wistful acoustic balladry manages to be intimate in its personal introspection; a soft blues leaning but with his full band it is all tied together to form elegant and gently layered radio friendly contemporary rock.
