Katie White

Campaigner and 2015 advisor to Labour Party

Yorkshire born Katie is currently advising the Labour Party on their 2015 international strategy. She was previously the European Campaigns Director for ONE, the campaign group that was co-founded by Bono to tackle extreme poverty and preventable disease in Africa. Prior to that, Katie co-led the campaign for a climate change act in the UK. That campaign is noted as one of the most successful campaigns in generations, it became the fourth most supported campaign in Parliamentary history, gained cross party support to become law and has since been replicated in multiple countries across the world. This led to Katie joining the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) to set up and lead a “war room” to prepare the UK Government, in advance of the 2009 UN Conference in Copenhagen. Having previously been named one of Vogue magazine’s Young Achievers, in 2013 Katie was awarded an OBE, for services to tackling climate change.
