Martin Reed is CEO and Chairman of Thomas International, global people assessment provider serving over 32,000 clients across 60 countries, in 56 languages

Martin Reed joined Thomas, the business founded by his father ten years previously, in 1991 as a sales consultant. Within two years he had become their top salesman and after becoming Team Leader for West London, he went on to open Thomas’ Central London Office on Bond Street in 1998 and later that year was promoted to UK Sales Director.

In 2000, Martin became Managing Director of Thomas International UK. In addition to building a more efficient sales force and growth revenue, he was pivotal in raising Thomas’ position within the academic community, which led to the Thomas PPA being registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Martin was appointed Chairman of Thomas International in 2005 and assumed dual responsibilities as Chairman and Chief Executive of Thomas UK and Thomas International in October 2007.
Martin has led the business ambitiously, to become the truly global operator it is now, operating in over 60 countries, with its products available in 56 languages and a customer base of over 32,000 customers worldwide and turnover of £31,418,000 in 2013 of which 70% was outside the UK.

Martin has prioritised a continuous focus on investment and innovation, ensuring products and platforms continue to serve their clients as effectively as possible and that Thomas stays at the forefront of assessment innovation and remains the leading international provider of on-demand assessment solutions, as they have for the last 30 years.

Martin is a founding member of Bucks Business First which is a partnership between Bucks County Council and Buckinghamshire entrepreneurs and currently has a true mandate to tackle head on the real business issues in the county of Bucks and he is a fellow of the Institute of Directors (IOD). His passion for helping young people lay behind the launch of Thomas Education in 2012 to help empower young people to know about themselves and the strengths they have to offer, as well as helping teachers understand their students better.

Martin is very much a hands on business leader who always delivers. He is dedicated to helping transform the performance of businesses and their people - a true visionary in the assessment space for 23 years.

A self-aware and emotionally intelligent professional who provides practical advice on business and people issues, Martin’s goal is to ensure everyone in any organisation meets their full potential through managing both their strengths and understanding their limitations.

Martin lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife and 3 children.
