Robert Hutton

UK political correspondent for Bloomberg News and author of 'Romps, Tots and Boffins - The Strange Language of News'.

Robert Hutton has been U.K. Political Correspondent since 2004, spending his days following British politicians around and trying to explain why they do what they do and what it all means. Before that he was a reporter and then subeditor at the Mirror and the Financial Times. (Everything you need to know about those two papers: at the Mirror, Hutton was generally agreed to be a terrible headline-writer, and at the FT they thought he was rather good.)

For the last year, he's been collecting Journalese, the words only used by reporters, and he's now published "Romps, Tots and Boffins", a guide to what the news really means. It's a "must-read" guide to the world of "booze-fuelled rampages" and "caged sex beasts".
