Swift reminds me of a Queen Bee in secondary school. The head of the cool group that holds the power to approve or deny entry to the posse. Say what you want about Kim and Kanye but they are brutally open and honest, often to the point where it's shocking and socially frowned upon... I rate that raw (and sometimes embarrassing and socially awkward) honesty more than people being fake or lying. At least you know where you stand.
No, Kylie Jenner taking a selfie is not endangering the future of humanity. Neither is her big sister Kim taking a naked picture, or posing with a champagne glass balanced on her backside. I reckon politicians banning 3,000 refugee children from the country, or taking away free healthcare, is more likely to endanger humanity, but that's just me... Get off your high horses, and stop blaming teens and celeb culture for the way the world is. Just because someone is taking a pouty selfie filtered to the gods, doesn't mean they're not smart and can't make a difference.
If you asked me what I loved most about my job, I would say the variety; no day is ever the same. Since London Fashion Week, work has taken me to play tennis at Wimbledon, discover the Kardashian's beauty secrets from one of their makeup artists, and even watch a chocolate themed orchestra, so I thought I'd tell you all about it.
We need a society that can praise all these different women, with their many different ways of empowering themselves. Some may get naked to feel confident and empowered, but others may emphasise their career success, their financial gain or their academic achievements. Or they may do all of the above; after all, women are not one-dimensional beings, just like men.
