Andrew Hall

Chief Executive, AQA

Andrew Hall was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) in June 2010. He is accountable to the AQA Council for the day-to-day leadership and management of all the organisation’s operations. He is also Chair of the Joint Council for Qualifications for this year.

Prior to that, Andrew joined QCA (subsequently QCDA) in October 2006 as director of strategic resource management. He was acting chief executive of QCA from December 2008, and formally appointed to that role in July 2009.

Before moving to the public sector, Andrew spent a considerable time as the chief executive of a quoted Public Limited Company and had built up his own business. Over the previous twenty years he had a number of general management roles within the industrial sector, operating in a multinational environment.

He is a chartered accountant and holds an education degree.
